Originally developed by TurboSlow – who happens to lost interest in Minecraft, Advanced HUD is a mod that allows users to relocate the HUD icons like health, hunger, hotbar, armor bar, and more.
By pressing “H” (by default), the screen will darken and all screen icons will appear. In this screen you can adjust and re-position the icons as well as see the written instructions in the middle of the screen.
Currently this mod only allows players to move and rotate the following: Hunger bar (food), Health bar (heart), Armor bar (armor), Oxygen bar (bubbles), Experience bar, Hot bar (shortcut bar), Tool Tip display, and Boss HP meter to anyway inside the screen – there are no options to hide them.
The mod also features a separate screen for adjusting mounted display (HUD when on a horseback). Advanced HUD allows the players to adjust Horse bar, and Horse Jump meter similarly to the rest.
Advanced HUD mod also allows players to change the crosshair to a different one from the list of various cool-looking icons.
Because Advanced HUD mod has been abandoned by the original mod authors, the community took over it and decided to update it to Minecraft 1.7.10. However, some mod features were not ported successfully and were therefore removed from the content.
Originally, the mod allows players to not only re-arrange the HUD icons, but also to change them entirely. Players are given a lot of options from turning Health hearts into a full rectangular health bar (like experience bar) to resizing the icons in order to fully customize the player’s screen.
Unfortunately, these features were not included anymore on the current version of the mod. But, I am still grateful that the community still kept this wonderful mod alive. And to be honest, I am still using this mod now even if the options are now more limited than what it was used to.
