The introduction to the Animated Player Mod forum thread explains this mod perfectly:
“Do you love Minecraft’s default animations? Are you obsessed with the way the Minecraft player looks and acts? Do you wish Minecraft’s player would forever look the same way? Well if you do, then this isn’t the mod for you!”
Most people find the player animations in Minecraft to be awkward and unrealistic but lovable all the same. The player animations give Minecraft its unique appearance. But still, they leave something to be desired.
Players who are tired of Minecraft’s default player animation system will be happy to note that the Animated Player Mod adds the following features into the game:
-Animated facial expressions, including eyes that move wherever the player is looking and an open mouth when the player is panting.
-Eyebrows will form sad expressions when the player is hungry and form confident or angry expressions when the player is attacking.
-Each pixel of a hat is now rendered individually to make it look better. Hat graphics can be toggled using the mod’s attached configuration file.
So far, player facial expressions are the major change in the Animated Player Mod. But for most players, that’s enough to noticeably improve the game and make it slightly more realistic.
