China is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. China has inspired a number of different Minecraft mods and maps, including the world famous Project 1845 – which has recreated an authentic, to-scale version of 1845 Beijing inside Minecraft.
Project 1845 is part of a world record attempt. In an effort to make Project 1845 as authentic as possible, the map’s creator, Bohtauri, has released an ancient Chinese texture pack for Minecraft.
This texture pack, called Authentic Chinese RPG Texture Pack, is designed to be as authentic as possible. It’s currently being used in Project 1845. Since Project 1845 is based off real photos and mapping details of Beijing, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more authentic Minecraft texture pack.
Why is this texture pack so authentic? The texture pack’s creator, Bohtauri, explains in his own words:
-“I lived in Beijing for two years and I am using photographic evidence I take myself of ancient architecture that I visited regularly and hopefully this will help raise the benchmark of the quality of Chinese-specific role-playing texture packs.”
If you’re looking for a way to immerse yourself in Chinese/Asian architecture, then the Authentic Chinese RPG Texture Pack is an excellent option. It’s ideal for mega builder projects – especially for mega builder projects with an oriental theme – but it won’t be very good for survival play.
