Block Recipes for Minecraft 1.5.2/1.6
Ore Blocks: If you want to create ore blocks, you need to place 9 pieces of ore inside a 3×3 crafting window. You can create ore blocks using 9 gold ingots, iron ingots, diamonds, gems, lapis lazuli, dyes, and emeralds. Ore Blocks have two main purposes – they can be used as a high-quality building block or as a clever form of ore storage.
Glowstone: Glowstones are a far more powerful type of heat/light source than torches. To create Glowstone, simply lay out four pieces of Glowstone dust in the 3×3 crafting window. Glowstone can melt snow and ice and, unlike torches, it can be used underwater.
Wool: Wool is a popular building material that can be dyed a number of different colors. To craft wool, simply lay out four pieces of string in a square in the crafting window.
TNT: TNT is used to create explosions and destroy the surrounding terrain. TNT can be crafted by placing gunpowder in an X formation and placing sand at the top, bottom, left, and right sides of a 3×3 crafting window.
Wood Slabs: Wood Slabs are larger than wooden planks. To create Wood Slabs, simply lay three wooden planks along the bottom of a 3×3 crafting window. Slabs can be used for making longer staircases, and combining two Wood Slabs together will give players a normal-sized double slab block.
Stone Slabs: Much like wood slabs, Stone Slabs can be used to create longer staircases, and two Stone Slabs placed on top of one another will create a normal-sized double slab block.
Wood Stairs: To create Wood Stairs, players need to create a staircase formation in a 3×3 recipe window. The lower right hand corner of the recipe window is filled with 6 wooden planks. This can be used to create compact staircases.
Stone Stairs: To create Stone Stairs, players need to create a staircase formation in a 3×3 recipe window. Just like with Wood Stairs, players fill the lower right corner of the recipe window with 6 blocks in order to create compact staircases. Stone Stairs can be crafted from cobblestone, brick, stone brick, nether brick, and sandstone.
Snow Block: Snow Blocks are crafted by placing four snowballs in a square formation in the recipe window. Snow Blocks are used as a building material, or, like ore blocks, they can be used to store snowballs in a more compact space. Players also need Snow Blocks for Snow Golems.
Clay Block: Clay Blocks are crafted by placing four clay balls in a square formation in the recipe window. Clay Blocks can be used to create buildings or as a compact storage solution for clay balls.
Brick: Players craft Bricks by placing four clay bricks in a square formation in the crafting window. Brick is a popular building material.
Stone Brick: Stone Bricks are crafted by placing four stone blocks in a square formation inside the crafting window. Stone blocks are crafted by smelting cobblestone (or through using the Silk Touch pickaxe enhancement while mining ore). Stone Bricks can be used during building construction.
Bookshelf: Bookshelves are mostly decorative, although they can be used to give an enchantment table special knowledge. To craft a bookshelf, place three wooden planks on the top row of a 3×3 crafting window, then place three books on the middle row, and three wooden planks on the bottom row.
Sandstone: Sandstone is crafted by placing four sand blocks in a square formation in the crafting window. Unlike normal sand, Sandstone will not be influenced by gravity, which makes it a useful building material.
Smooth Sandstone: Smooth Sandstone is a decorative block that can be crafted by placing four sandstone blocks in a square formation inside the crafting window.
Decorative Sandstone: Just like smooth sandstone, Decorative Sandstone is a decorative block that can be crafted by placing two sandstone slabs on top of one another in the crafting window.
Jack-O-Lantern: Jack-O-Lanterns are brighter than torches. They can melt snow and ice and be used underwater. To craft a Jack-O-Lantern, simply combine a torch and a pumpkin in the crafting window.
Ender Chest: Ender Chests are Minecraft’s form of cloud storage. Any items placed in an Ender Chest will appear in all other Ender Chests in the world. These are useful for a number of different reasons. To craft Ender chests, place 8 obsidian blocks around the edge of the crafting window and place an Eye of Ender in the middle.
