Back in 2010, Cartograph was Minecraft’s most popular cartography tool. It was used to map all sorts of cool worlds, and it featured an easy interface that made mapping caves, structures, terrain, mountains, and other features as easy as possible.
Unfortunately, the creator of Cartograph eventually stopped updating the tool. Today, a modder called Gameslinder has kept Cartograph up-to-date with the Cartograph G tool. This tool brings all of the functionality of the original Cartograph to the newest versions of Minecraft. Although the core features and usability of Cartograph have been retained, Gameslinder has added plenty of new features into the tool to make it better than ever before.
Cartograph features several different types of render modes. Each mode features a different view. The Oblique Cave mode, for example, shows players all of the caves that have been created around the map, while the Oblique Dirt mode simply shows the terrain and its most basic level. Each mode is useful for editing a different part of the map, and the end result is a mapping tool that is incredibly easy to use.
Here are a few of the things that players can do with the Cartograph G tool:
-See how maps appear at different times of day
-Add new textures and colors onto maps
-View areas, ore, caverns, and many other terrain features
-View maps with or without selected types of blocks
-View maps at any height level
-Render maps quickly and efficiently
-And so much more!
