If you have ever wanted to make a video using an animated Minecraft character but do not have access to (or knowledge of) relevant 3D animation programs, this resource pack is guaranteed to make you happy. It is my pleasure to introduce the simple yet fundamental Chroma Key resource pack by NZL Truly!
Essentially, this texture pack turns your world into nothing but flat, vibrant colors. This is useful for editing programs so that they can determine what colors to cut out automatically, thus leaving a transparent image. For example: unless your skin or equipment contains this exact shade of obnoxiously bright green, it will work completely fine:
With this in mind, one could easily create Minecraft videos (or even just easily cut-out screenshots) with the appropriate video editing software. That’s all there is to it!
Installing Chroma Key Resource Pack for Minecraft 1.8
Download the latest version of the resource pack here.
Press WindowsKey+R and type %appdata%\.minecraft\resourcepacks
Unzip the file if it was zipped.
Place the resource pack in this folder.
In Minecraft, go to Options > Resource Packs and select your pack.
Now that you have your very own Chroma Key for Minecraft, what are you going to do with it? If you use this mod for screenshots, videos, or otherwise anything Minecraft related, be sure to post the results in the comments! If you are not quite sure how to use Chroma Key, let me know – I may write up a tutorial on basic video editing to help you get started (but only if I see a need for it among our readers).
