Do you like console games? Do you wish to play console games with your Minecraft friends inside Minecraft? Well, with this mod you can!… sort of.
Decorative Video Game Systems is a mod that was just recently created by jawser78. This mod adds several console and gaming system to Minecraft! These systems are: NES, SNES, Playstation, Gamecube, N64, Virtual Boy, Atari Jaguar Block, Atari 2600, Playstation 2, Xbox, and Xbox 360!
This mod also adds cartridge bookcase to store your games!
Now these gaming consoles are for decorative purposes only and does not contain mini games by themselves (maybe a separate mod will come in the future to do just that).
So why is this mod useful? On modern-themed Minecraft worlds, immersion and real life items are what makes up the game. Of course, what modern house would be without a gaming console, right?
Although it is very simple, it also features great potential on multiplayer servers that uses command blocks – for example, you’re server is all about mini games. To access these mini-game worlds, players need to go onto a portal – a nether looking, creepy, disturbing portals, or activate some redstone buttons to teleport.
Items from this mod can act as if they are the portal, so instead of going to the world through a portal, players can just pretend to sit down on a couch, pick up the controller and hit play (button) that will teleport them to the mini game world.
