Dungeons of Heroes is a randomly generated dungeon crawler map. The map’s style will be familiar to those who have played games like Diablo or Torchlight. As the map’s creator, Back__Fire says, Dungeons of Heroes “consists of lots of killing, lots of loot, and lots of fun.”
Players must fight their way through each of the randomly generated dungeons in order to find epic loot. Although there are plenty of traditional mobs to be encountered along the way, there are also boss enemies that provide a greater challenge.
Boss fights are staged in memorable arenas, and each boss has its own unique style. One boss fight takes place in a room surrounded by pillars of lava with a pool of water in the center, for example.
The dungeons in the Dungeons of Heroes map all have unique scenery and textures that prevent the map from becoming too repetitive. Back__Fire suggests that the map will take two to three hours to completely play through, and players will discover powerful loot like weapons and armor to keep them motivated along the way.
At the beginning of the map, players choose a class by sleeping in different beds. There is also a game setup room where players press various buttons to be transported to different dungeons. After setting up the game and choosing their class, players can talk to a number of custom trader nPCs to outfit their player with any required equipment.
The map is very refined and surprisingly low on bugs. The game setup and class selection is very straightforward, which means players can stop wasting time figuring out where the map wants them to go and instead focus on simply playing the game.
