Some people don’t like playing PC games with a mouse and keyboard. But unfortunately, that’s the only way you can play vanilla Minecraft. If you want to play Minecraft using a joypad, then you’ll need to install something called the Joypad Mod.
This mod allows players to simultaneously control Minecraft using a gamepad as well as the keyboard and mouse. In fact, you can hook up as many gamepads as your PC can handle and enjoy a split screen Minecraft experience.
Splitscreen mode is particularly useful. The main Minecraft screen is divided down the middle, which means there is half the resolution on each individual screen but twice the gaming possibilities. You can control one screen with the mouse and keyboard while controlling the other with your gamepad.
This mod allows you to use any controller recognized by Windows. So if you’re used to playing the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft, rest assured that the Joypad Mod will work with any Xbox 360 controller connected to your Windows system. Just plug a USB controller (or a wireless adapter) into your PC and you’re ready to start playing.
