Minecraft Forge API for Minecraft 1.5.2/1.6
In a game with as many mods as Minecraft, there are bound to be a few complications between mods. If you’ve ever tried to install multiple mods at the same time, then you might have run into strange errors, weird glitches, and even complete crashes to desktop.
If you want to make sure all of your Minecraft mods get along, then you need to install something called Minecraft Forge. Basically, Minecraft Forge allows all of your installed mods to work together.
For that reason, many people see Minecraft Forge as one of the most important mods in the Minecraft community – if not the most important mod. After all, if we could only install one or two mods at a time, that would take a lot of the enjoyment out of the modding experience. With Forge, you don’t have to pick and choose which mods are your favorite.
This mod is called ‘Forge’ because it forges elements of various mods together. For example, if you have two mods that have each added an item called ‘oil’ into the game, then you could run into compatibility issues if Forge isn’t installed. When Forge is installed, it will recognize that your mod folder has two items called ‘oil’ and will ‘Forge’ them together in order to make your experience as seamless as possible.
In other words, Minecraft Forge takes the best elements of every mod and forges them together. It still retains the core features of each mod, but in the event where two features overlap with one another, it will fuse them together into something better.
Minecraft Forge is such an important part of the Minecraft community that an entire forum has been dedicated to it. Using that forum, modders can seek advice on how to best port their mod into the Forge system, and players can get help installing their mods or fixing glitches.
There are a few Minecraft mods that are ‘must-haves’ for those in the Minecraft community. Minecraft Forge is one such mod. If you want to get the most out of your gameplay experience, then installing Minecraft Forge should be the first place you start.
