The Minecraft community is preparing for another major Minecraft update.
Earlier today, Mojang released Snapshot 14w03a in preparation for that update. Thousands of Minecraft users have now installed the update, which comes with a wide range of bug fixes and feature improvements:
-Iron Golems will no longer drop iron automatically; they will only drop iron when killed by players
-Zombie Pigmen will now only drop gold when killed by players
-Desert Temples now use Clay instead of Wool
-A new gamerule, logAdminCommands, has been added
-Player heads are no longer only one layer
-Debug tooltips now also show the ID numbers of named items
-You can now use /clone to copy large areas to other areas. You can copy a maximum of 4096 blocks. To do that, type in the command as follows:
/clone 1001 3 1002 1011 3 992 1001 5 992 masked
(The mode can either be masked or replace. Replace will copy every block in the sector, while masked will copy all non-air blocks)
-You can type /fill to fill a large area with a block. Once again, up to 4096 blocks can be filled and you can use the command like this:
/fill 1001 3 1002 1011 5 992 wool 6 replace
-Skin improvements, including new skin layout
-A full-body hat layer which can be set to transparent
-Your legs and arms can now look different from one another. Your left and right legs can have different skins, for example.
-When struck by lightning, villagers will now become witches
-All village roads will now generate with cobblestone blocks underneath
-Dozens of bug fixes, including fixing chicken jockey lag, fixing /setworldspawn compass problems, fixing leaves now changing color, and fixing command blocks not allowing cubic radius
