Minecraft is a blocky sand box games for kids and little children. But not all players are happy care-free kids, as there are many players whoe are also quite mature… and this mod is designed for them!
Mob Dismemberment mod is another awesome mod from the talented mod maker Ichun.
This mod aims to make Minecraft mobs more realistic by making mobs like zombies and skeletons get easily dismembered and gibbed just like what they are supposed to.
The mod replaces several hostile mobs death scene to a new dynamic one. Once they are killed, their 3D model will get dismembered by their parts (i.e. head, body, legs, and arms), and depending on the mob, with splattered blood.
This mod works on the following hostile mobs; zombies, zombie pigemen, skeletons, and creepers. Hostile mobs like Zombies and Zombie pigmen will splatter their blood once they get dismembered, while creepers and skeletons won’t.
On the moment of final impact, the mob will then get separated into pieces with the same force of the impact – weapons with extra high knockback effects will make the gibbed parts flying away.
The dismembered parts are also dynamic entities and are not only “there” for effects. These parts can bounce around, pushed around, and fall from high places, but they only lasts for around 3 seconds by default. Blood also shares these properties except the blood won’t bounce. Once it hits a block or item, it will stick their like a stain. Cool right?
Aside from that, the mod also has a config file that will be generated in Minecraft’s config folder. This config file allows the player to disable certain effects and edit a bunch of others.
The config will also allow you to set how long will the dismembered parts last before disappearing (I personally changed it to around 30 seconds), change the blood color to green (in case it gets too violent), and many more.
