Mystcraft Mod

Mystcraft 1.6 seeks to bring the popular Myst games into the Minecraft world. In Mystcraft, players wander through a number of different ‘Ages’, also known as worlds.

Whether you’ve played Myst before or not, Mystcraft comes with quite a few extra features that you might not be familiar with. For example, players can effectively create teleporters that can transport you from one ‘Age’ to another. These teleporters are called ‘Age books’

You can travel to a new age with an Age book, but in order to return from that age, you’re going to need something called a ‘linking book. If you happen to get stuck in an age without a linking book, you could be in trouble: you might end up being stuck in the age and unable to return to your home age.

Along with linking books and ages, Mystcraft features a number of new and creative items. Linkbook stands can be used to hold books (as you might have guessed). After right-clicking on a stand with a book on it, players will instantly travel to a new age.

Meanwhile, players can write down any new symbols they have learned in a special notebook.

For people who played Myst, Mystcraft will be an entertaining addition to the Minecraft experience. It will also appeal to anybody who wants Minecraft to come with new and exciting dimensions.

  1. Incorrect. The current version of Mystcraft, 5 months after this post was created, is still incompatible with 1.6.4, and only works on 1.6.2. Fail.
