The Secure, Craft, Protect Mod is one of the most popular mods in the Minecraft community today. But in spite of that fact, many people have no idea what Secure, Craft, Protect (SCP for short) is actually about.

What is SCP? And what makes it such a popular Minecraft mod?

Well, the first thing to know about SCP is that it is based off the SCP universe. SCP – outside of Minecraft – stands for Secure, Contain, Protect. And despite the serious-sounding name, SCP is based off of a series of short stories about paranormal activities and supernatural events. If this all sounds strange to you, then that’s exactly the point. If you’re confused, check out the SCP Foundation’s website.

To get a better idea of how SCP stories work, check out this top-rated story called SCP-173. It’s about an alien creature that cannot move when in direct sunlight. The short story is no more than few paragraphs long, but it’s certainly creepy.  And then there are bizarre stories like this that are more tongue-in-cheek than supernatural fantasy.

So what does a collection of short stories have anything to do with the world of Minecraft? Well, the SCP Mod for Minecraft allows players to survive in some of the dangerous short story worlds created by SCP writers. Dozens of SCP adventure maps are included with this mod and more are being added with every update.

Meanwhile, SCP Mod fans have created several custom adventure maps that add new stories to the SCP mod. Those stories include custom maps like Containment Craft and Area 96, among others.

These maps are challenging and, like the short stories themselves, can be very creepy at times. If you don’t like playing scary video games, then you might want to steer clear of the SCP Mod. But since everything is re-enacted in the colorful, friendly, and blocky world of Minecraft, the SCP Mod is not quite as creepy as it could be.

Most of all, this mod is unique. If you’re looking for a creative way to enhance your gameplay and change the way you think about supernatural beings, download the Secure, Craft, Protect Mod for Minecraft today.

This is a total fraud. I and another are working together on the true continuation of this mod; there is no 1.6.2 version, and for that matter no 1.5.2. But! There shall be, and you can bet that it will not be hosted on one of these crappy minecraft ripoff sites.
