Tailor Mod for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5

One thing that Minecraft was severely lacking in its original release was the option to make your character unique.  Dyed leather armor was about as far as uniqueness went without the use of skins.  Skins are great, but what about having in-game clothing that is customizable?  User Wulfyk addresses this lack of customization with the recently released Tailor mod!

At its initial release, this mod already provided over a hundred new pieces of clothing, each with a unique crafting recipe:

There are three major categories of clothing in this mod so far:

  • Japanese – clothing and armor from ancient (feudal) Japan

  • Fantasy – robes, magical clothing, and knight armor

  • Modern – suits, casual clothing, etc.

Players with this mod installed can also of course mix and match clothing, meaning that there are hundreds more possibilities for unique outfits.  Doing something similar with skins would take a ridiculous amount of time – and each new addition adds tons of new possibilities!

Finally, the fact that these outfits are actual items means that they can be traded amongst players or NPCs.  This allows for some interesting gameplay – such as one player on a server becoming a tailor, or RPG-style shops in different themed towns.
