If you’ve ever thought the mob animations in Minecraft looked boring, then you’ll like The Better Animations Collection 1.6. This mod adds plenty of new animations into the game to give Minecraft a more realistic appearance. Cats now wag their tails as they run around the world, for example, and creeper animations have been noticeably altered to make them even creepier.
Basically, The Better Animations Collection alters the in-game models and Minecraft’s physics engine in order to improve their appearance. Instead of simply gliding over the terrain, various parts of the mob models will bounce as they move. This might seem like a small touch, but it helps players stay immersed in the Minecraft world.
Some models have been changed in subtle ways. For example, a pig’s nose is now a movable object that goes up and down when it looks at you. While other models – like the creeper, sway frighteningly as they stagger towards you.
Players don’t have to install all of the animations in The Better Animations Collection. It’s very easy to drag and drop only the animations that you like. Installation is done through the Minecraft.jar, and the mod replaces base class files, so it’s best to create a backup of your .jar before you proceed.
The Better Animations Collection improves plenty of Minecraft features. In addition, new animations are being added with every update, and the mod is still considered a work in progress. If you’re ready to make Minecraft mobs and characters look slightly more realistic, then The Better Animations Collection is for you.
