If you have ever needed to collect a lot of wood in Minecraft, then you might have been frustrated by one shortcoming in Minecraft’s engine: you have to chop apart each trunk of the tree separately – even if you’re working your way from the base of the tree to the top. Instead of falling down like a normal tree when you take away the base of the trunk, Minecraft trees do not respect the laws of physics.
This is frustrating and unrealistic. Fortunately, Minecraft’s versatile modding community has developed a solution. Popular mod creator TehKrush has created something called the Timber Mod that allows players to chop apart an entire tree just by attacking the very lowest part of the tree with an axe.
After you chop through the bottom part of a tree, the rest of the tree shatters into wooden blocks. Although there isn’t a falling animation, it’s certainly a step up from vanilla Minecraft – especially if you need to collect a lot of wood in a short period of time.
The Timber Mod has a simple function, but many Minecraft players find it to be very useful. Check it out today and start collecting more wood than ever before.
