If you’re an aspiring chef, then you were probably disappointed with Minecraft’s vanilla food system. There isn’t much there. Fortunately, the UsefulFood Mod wants to change that by adding 29 cool and unique food recipes into the game. Players can make everything from steak sandwiches to caramel apples.
Each food restores a different amount of health. In general, the more ingredients there are involved in crafting a food, the more health it will restore. A Porkchop Sandwich heals players more than a glass of milk, for example.
The food is fun to craft. Players can gather fruits, vegetables, plants, and other ingredients from the world around them before crafting them together to make food. Some foods – like fried eggs – require players to use a furnace as a heat source.
Some typical UsefulFood Mod recipes include fruit salad, oatmeal, trail mix, cheese, chocolate candy, and more. To make cheese, players heat milk in a furnace, for example. Pork chop sandwiches can be made by placing a pork chop in between two slices of bread – just like in real life!
Most of the foods heal a specific amount of health, but some give players other bonuses – like the ability to regenerate health over a ten second period. Other types of food have negative effects. Milk, for example, has a 50% chance of poisoning you (I don’t know why).
If you want to try your cooking abilities with a fun recipe mod, then the UsefulFood mod is just waiting for you to try it out.
