If you really want to celebrate Christmas in Minecraft and you feel like resource packs alone won’t get you the merriness that you need, then try installing this wonderful Chrismas – themed mod!
Created by Gruntpie224, Wintercraft is a winter-based, Christmas holiday -themed mod that adds reindeer, elves, penguins, and a lot of other things. And yes… Santa!
Wintercraft is originally a winter-based mod that turns minecraft into an ever winter place – all areas will be covered in snow and snow will fall everywhere during the months of December and January (I’m honestly still confused on this one but it detects real time dates). It also adds mobs that are found on snow regions such as penguins and polar bears.
With the latest update, Wintercraft mod now features a lot of Christmas based mobs such as elves, snowman, gingerbread men, reindeer, and Santa.
With this mod installed, there will be random but fun presents, Christmas events, and a vising Santa that likes your cookies and cocoa!
During the months of December and January on real-time clock, the whole world of Minecraftia will be covered in snow and will transform into a snow biome – freezing water blocks too.
By constructing your own Christmas tree, an opportunity will open up for Santa to come and visit you. To construct a Christmas tree, make sure to put the star block last – when done properly a jingle sound will play to notify you that Santa will come. The last step is to carry one Hot Chocolate and one Christmas Cookie in your inventory before going to bed.
Chances of Santa to come is not always 100%, so be patient and keep doing what you are doing – he will eventually come… and when he does, you will have gifts under the tree and your chocolate and cookies will be missing.
Aside from that, this mod also adds igloos, giant candy canes and elf cottages that will spawn randomly on your winter world.
Overall, this mod is a blast. Hopefully the mod author will also add new content to keep players from playing pass the two months.
