The Zipline Mod 1.6 does exactly what you would expect it to do. It adds a cool new zipline into the Minecraft world. Ziplines can be used to cross rivers or valleys, or just to get from one point to another as quickly as possible.
Instead of just allowing players to craft a zipline, the Zipline Mod makes things slightly more challenging. Players have to craft a rope, handlebar, arrow, and zipline bow before they can start creating ziplines around the map. However, once they’ve crafted tools like the bow, they can be used over and over again to create all sorts of different ziplines.
Ziplines can also be used to climb vertical walls and cliffs. Players climb up the rope with surprising speed. If players are crossing a chasm or river with the zipline, they’ll need to fire a bow from one side to the other. However, if you don’t want to use the bow, ziplines can also be laid along the ground or against other blocks.
After laying a rope across a chasm, players can quickly slide down it. If the zipline goes from a high spot to a low spot, players will move down the rope very quickly, but will take longer to climb up. Ziplines often save quite a bit of walking time, especially if you’re travelling across a map with mountainous terrain.
There is also a leather item that can be placed on any wall around the map. It’s called “placeable leather”, although this doesn’t really serve a useful purpose.
That’s about it for the Zipline Mod. If you need to get from one place to another quickly and efficiently, then using a zipline is the way to go.
